International Schools
International schools are schools which advance and promote
international education by employing a specific curriculum,
instead of the educational system and local curriculum of the country
where they are located - such as International Baccalaureate programs.
Such schools follow the curriculum of the schools in
their country of origin, although this may be completely different from
the system in which they are located.
Most International Baccalaureate schools cater to students who are not
citizens of the country who host the school. This includes children of
the diplomatic team of a foreign country, international businesses and
organizations, consular missions, international missions and other
missionary programs. Students of the host country may also enroll in
these schools to obtain an International Baccalaureate type of
education. This helps them learn the language of the school’s country
of origin and eventually obtain employment abroad.
Many qualified locals also
apply
for international school jobs. They
become instructors and lecturers alongside foreign hires. The hiring of
teachers for a school can be conducted at international job fairs.
Prospective educators are interviewed and screened to ascertain if they
meet the qualifications required of the job and are later assisted with
the necessary visa applications in order for them to work in the host
country. These teachers are also given assistance with their
accommodation and transportation needs.
Because of this dynamic regarding the school system,
there is a need for
a
good international schools review that are
accessible to everyone. Many job applicants for schools first take a
look at such reviews before they send in their applications. This gives
them an idea of the benefit packages and the real background of the
schools they wish to apply to. School review resources
therefore become very helpful guides in choosing a school to work in.
IB schools also offer MYP, PYP and IBO curricula which cater to
children of expatriates and children of diplomatic and consular
missions. They have elementary and high school programs which are
preparatory for entry into foreign universities.
In Asia, the international schools in Hyderabad, the international
school Manila, the international school of Beijing, international
schools Hong Kong and the Kuala Lumpur international school all have
excellent International Baccalaureate programs.
In Europe, educational centers such as the international schools in
Prague offer the International Baccalaureate Program to qualified
students in Grades 11 to 12. This program prepares students for
university by following a common international curriculum that is
recognized all over the world. It is a two-year program which requires
students to take up six main courses and study at least three of them
extensively. Upon completion of the course, they are given examinations
which will prepare them for further studies.
IB schools make education a global experience and offer a
convenient way of learning for geographically mobile students. No
matter where you are, you can obtain an education that will be
recognized by academic institutions all over the world. The presence of
IB schools also opens the doors for greater employment opportunities
for both local and foreign teachers alike. This makes them an asset in
host countries where they may be found.
